Adelaide is sick, which explains last night’s turbulent events. Runny nose, diarrhea and fever.
On the positive(?) side, I got to try out the new thermometer we received for August. I was a little skeptical about using a forehead thermometer, but it seems to work great. It read me at 98.8 and Adelaide at 101.8.
Still sick 🙁 Look at those glow-in-the-dark cheeks!
Baby’s sick 🙁

Kyle’s not feeling well, either, so he stayed home from work with me and ended up taking care of me all day. Today’s activities:
- Using the neti pot
- Walking to the store to buy salt and get some sunshine
- Wearing glasses
- Drinking water
- Watching Hook
- Eating chicken noodle soup and toast
- Watching the last third of The Secret Garden
- Playing Super Smash Bros.

Ladybug caught a flu bug. She threw up on Sunday night, and spent Monday and Tuesday with a mild fever. Wednesday was better—she was laughing and running and chowed down on a chicken soft taco like her normal self and didn’t feel warm at all. But after church last night, she threw up in the parking lot and got sick three more times in bed.
It’s tough to leave a sick kid. I know Kyle’s taking good care of her, but I wish we could both be there for her. When I left, she was sleeping snugly. Hopefully we’ve seen the last of this bug.
As always, Adelaide’s a champ. She doesn’t cry about being sick, and I do my best to downplay my concern and just help her get through it, telling her she’s doing a good job. One time after throwing up she said, “I did it!” Haha. Even when she’s down, she’s up.
So, yeah. Say a prayer for Laidey, that she feels better really soon.
