A video for the grandparents – August opens gifts on his first birthday.
Adelaide opens her gifts on her third birthday.
Well whaddaya know? As of Sunday, I am officially 30 years old.
It’s not that different from being 29, except when I fill out online surveys, I have to put myself in a new age category.
- under 18
But seriously, folks. Being 30 is going to be good. Especially if I can figure out something worthwhile to do in life. You know, besides being an awesome wife (right, honey?), mother to the most adorable kid I’ve ever given birth to, helping kids connect with God and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
I guess I am already doing some worthwhile things. Maybe I just need to stop being so hard on myself for falling short of the unrealistic expectations I make up in my head. I think it’s a firstborn thing.
I got some wonderful gifts(!) including the ever-popular-always-appreciated money, a terrific All-Clad sautee pan from my mother-in-law, and a beautiful new camera from Kyle, who secretly saved up cash to get me a gift while I pouted about not having enough money to get me a gift. How lame of me! He’s great, huh? I’m excited about the pictures and videos I get to take and share with you all, just as soon as I figure out what aperture means.
Oh! And how could I forget my very favorite gift, straight from the heavens above—a whole WEEK of rain, just for me. For those of you who prefer sunny skies, I will be happy to let you choose the weather for your 30th birthday.
