Augie is 5 months old! Where does the time go?
You are still eating well! I keep wanting to feed you real food, and you’ll probably be ready soon, but not yet.
You’re starting to fall into a rhythm, but it seems like every time we figure out your groove, you decide to do something different. You like to take a (glorious!) two- or three-hour nap in the afternoon. Sometimes you take it before I get home from work, giving Daddy some (relatively) quiet time, and sometimes you take it after I get home from work, and I get some (relatively) uninterrupted time.
Don’t get me wrong—we love to see your gummy smile and baby blues. But thank you for napping so well. It gives us time to get things done around the house. Important things, like checking Facebook. Just kidding. Mostly.
You are 27-1/2 inches tall, 21 pounds, and your head is 17-1/2 inches around. You’re still in the 90-95th percentile for weight and height and 75th for head size. You are squarely in 9-12 month clothes. And you grew out of your infant car seat this month.
I feel like you’ve really “woken up” this month. You can sit up for a long time. You are becoming more purposeful with your movements—not so spasmodic. You like to grab toys and put them in your mouth. Actually, you like to grab EVERYTHING. You cry when I take away something that you were enjoying (paper towels, usually). You laugh when I make funny sounds. You really like your sister. You give the biggest smiles when you see her playing or dancing across the room. And you’ve been chatting more, making conversation in your cute little baby way.
Speaking of conversation, I think you’re trying to get my attention right now. “Waaaa-ung-rrrrrr-wa-eeeee-hrrr!”
Right back at ya, kiddo.
