Augie’s been singing this song lately. I’m not sure if he’s copying a song he heard, or if he came up with it on his own. It’s a little punk rock. The lyrics vary, but it starts out fast and loud and then slows down at the end. Then he looks at me expectantly for applause.
Augie is finally talking in sentences! Thinking back, I realize he’s been using sentences for a while, now. Like, “Look, a school bus!” or “Mommy, help, please!” or “I want oatmeal!” But this is the first time I’ve noticed him branching out.
In this instance, he had gone into the fridge and gotten two slices of American cheese for Adelaide and him, which is pretty sweet, because he’s not as into American cheese slices as Adelaide is. (He’s more of a sliced Swiss man.)
– Augie when he’s mad. I’m not sure what it means. I think it might be “Because, I’m not (doing) anything!” but that still doesn’t make sense. Probably something he heard Adelaide say.
