This video is from a few months ago. Daddy makes every day fun.
Adelaide has been going to gymnastics class every week as part of her charter school classes. This is from her first class.
Adelaide: What if you had a dead cat, and you had a box for a present, but it was empty, and you put the dead cat in the box, and you taped it shut, and you invited your friends over to your house, and everyone said what was special about the cat, and then you sang songs?
Mommy: Well, I guess that would be a nice funeral for the cat.
Adelaide: And what if you found a hole that a fox dug, but the fox was gone, so the hole was empty, and you put the box in the hole?
Mommy: Well, I guess that would be the cat’s burial service.
Adelaide: And what if you found a rock or a piece of wood and you had a dark crayon, and you wrote “Dead Cat that belonged to Rosie” on it and you put it on top?
Mommy: Well, I guess that would be a gravestone.
Adelaide: Mm-hm. (silence) And what if you had a dead dog, and you had a box…
Mommy! I learned that Jesus is the Rock of isolation!
I learned about this site Art for Kids from the Jones Design Company blog. This guy, Rob, does drawings with his young kids. So I’ve been getting Adelaide to watch the videos and do some drawings with me. She doesn’t like it as much as I do, but she goes along with it for my sake.
Here’s our first drawing, a giraffe. Adelaide says hers looks more like a giraffe than mine does because she colored in the spots. And I have to agree.
Adelaide and Augie dance to John Mayer’s “Born and Raised.”
