August, you’re 11 months old! Here’s what you’ve been up to:
You’re eating more and more food lately. You’re still nursing pretty frequently, but you will stop to check out we’re eating and demand a bite with a loud “Uh! Uh!”
You especially like pieces of bread or tortilla and chicken. You’ll eat string cheese and beans. I gave you a pickle spear at the fair, and you enjoyed that a lot. And you love ice cream.
You learned how to drink from a straw this month and you like to drink water from your sippy cup.
Being on vacation these past few weeks was disorienting for you, I think. We stayed in three houses and four campsites, and that was a lot of change for a 11-month-old.
You are 23 pounds, 30.5 inches long, and your head is 19 inches around, which makes you a big-headed, tallish dude of average weight.
Your hair is growing, too! It is coming in reddish, but I wonder if it will stick.
You are starting to form words with more regularity. You say “Mawm!” or “Mawmawmaw!” when you are desperate for me, which is often.
You also say “Ba!” and “Da!” which might mean Dad or Ball or Dog or Water or Adelaide. And you point to things sometimes.
You have learned how to get off the bed and couch feet first. No more bumps on the head for you! You can also go down the stairs.
I love watching you grow, little guy! You are sleeping right now, so I am going to take advantage of the remaining moments of your nap and get away…from…the…computer…
